Fluorescence scanning of tunica intima

With bridge scanning we can combine fluorescence scanning with brightfield scanning. An example of identifying and quantitating the thickness of the tunica intima in kidney arteries is presented below. The slide is first scanned in brightfield, and then scanned in fluorescence. The two whole slide images can be overlaid, and the tunica intima thickness can be measured.

The image on the left was scanned under fluorescence, and the tunica intima can be extracted with image analysis and overlaid on the brightfield image on the right.
